Can someone explain to me why FSLR keeps rising???
FSLR is a company that to me at least is over-valued at 210 or 220, Recently about last month around march 1 or 2 Insiders had a huge sell of of about 1M shares, and on top of everything i haven't been hearing much great things about the solar energy industry. So why has FSLR taken off ever since the 1M share sale? almost up $100 in a moth i was starting to think about shorting them at 210!, i just don't understand the logic behind this all, will someone please explain this to me?
Thanks!
Simply put there's more buying then selling.
There has been speculation that the m&ms are moving it. In this particular instance that's is quite possible. You're seeing the tail end of solar stocks compared to last year.
Yes, solar industry has been seeing activity which actually was a bit stronger beginning about third quarter las year.
One thing that raises red flags is the their panels are tied very closely to the rare metal called Turrillium. Their suppliers cost of production margins haven't increased, but the profit margins have been increasing - right about the same time FSLR was producing their product. The metal is not finite and mainly produced by their supplier that for some reason has not/cannot up production. The supply of Turrillium being a large factor for the growth of the company has be bearish on the stock and the rising ocean of competition and new tech. BS had them during a call and they weren't to generous with any explanations on who or where they were going to get supply they need. Further more the stock is trading at an alarming twenty times book value makes me further bearish. Imo this stock is a short. I believe this stock will be back to fifty dollars sometime in the next six months.
