Replacing Lawn, Dig up sprinklers 1st?
I'm replacing my lawn, should I dig up the sprinklers and then rota-till or can I rota-till around the sprinklers and above the pipes?
Just mark heads and till.
My question is why are you replacing lawn?
If you have shade issues, your new grass will usually die in 12 to 24 months.
I have NEVER seen a lawn that could not be saved.
Seriously consider using a professional service like Tru-Green or Scott's. Give them at least 12 months and the yard will look completely different. In most cases, you can pay three or four years worth of service for what it will cost you to re-sod and you will still need service after you put the turf down.
If you really add the cost up to treat your own lawn CORRECTLY, you can hire the work out for no more the $75 per year difference.
I hope you are somewhere warm, because putting sod down now is risky.

Another great thing about drip sprinkler systems is that they use less water, saving you even more money while helping the environment. According to certain studies, drip systems use only about half the amount of water that spray systems use. Thus they are quite economical and practical.
