Australian Government Solar Energy

Why does the Australian Government ignore 'Water from Air' solutions to current drought problem?

The mobile equipment currently available can produce up to 5000 ltrs a day, and the equipment can be set up to use only solar energy. A few of those placed on those farms like in the northern areas of Victoria would certianly help the crisis they are facing.
Commercial units capable of producing far, far more litres per day than the mobile units could be utilised by 'Water Authorities' to supplement or even eliminate use of natural resources in some areas.

If this method could be powered by solar or wind or another type of renewable it should be implemented. Why the Government isn't exploring this I don't know.

There are three main reasons for choosing a solar hot water system.

1. FREE Hot Water (approx 300 days of the year you get free heated water from the sun) - significant savings...

2. FREE MONEY... Government Rebates - the government is giving away thousands of dollars for you to install an energy efficient system in your home.

3. They are more environmentally friendly - They use renewable energy from the sun and not coal fired electrical energy (possibly no electrical energy at all, if you install an energy efficient gas boosted system)... so you reduce your carbon footprint.

About point 1... FREE Hot Water.

How would you like to have free hot water for the next 30-40 years?

I mean "FREE" literally.

Yes, you'll spend money up front to install a new system, but with government grants and the extra value a solar water system puts on the value of your home, it would almost be enough to offset the cost of your new installation.

And don't forget the hidden costs you'll save...

Imagine buying a car and not having to put petrol in it.  This it what it's like buying a solar hot water system.  Little to no ongoing energy costs.

How would this help with the family budget?

The Queensland Government has stated energy costs are set to rise significantly over the next few years.  By installing a new system your family could save thousands of dollars over the coming years.

You will also continue to save even more money every time electrical and energy costs rise in the future.  You won't be using any. Within a few years, you'll recover your initial expense of buying a new system.

Many experts agree, a solar heated water system is by far the best investment you can make to saving money on energy costs.  Every time you run a bath or shower you will have the satisfaction of knowing the energy you are using comes FREE, compliments of the sun. What happens if there is no or little sun light? To accommodate poor weather conditions like in winter or on rainy days you can install a gas boosted solar hot water system to ensure you have a continuous supply of steaming hot water.

FREE MONEY... Government Rebates - point # 2...

The Australian Government is currently offering rebates of $1,600 to install a solar heated water system or $1,000 to install a heat pump type system in your home.

This is to helps home owners, investors and tenants to replace their old electric storage systems with new solar or heat pump water systems.

This offer is part of the Federal Government's Energy Efficient Homes incentive that started on 3 February 2009.

The Solar Hot Water Rebate scheme plus other rebates available was introduced to help you save money on your power bills and reduce your household's greenhouse gas emissions.

Who knows how long the government rebate schemes will be available. I say... Get in quick while the government is handing out FREE money...

Point 3 - Environmentally friendly systems...

If asked the question... so, what are you personally doing to reduce your carbon footprint to save our planet for our children?

hmmmm.

With a new energy efficient solar heated water system... your answer PLENTY!

There are many solar heated systems on the market.  Some of the better known brands are Rheem, Rinnai, Dux, Bosch, Edwards, Solarhart...

With so many different brands, systems, capacity, flow rates, models and choices available it's hard to know what's best for your requirements.  Also, is a solar heated system right for you.  Perhaps an instantaneous hot water system would be a better choice.

And furthermore... which system is going to give you the best government rebates and bang for your buck?
